Workspaces
Workspaces are spaces where a user can organize their Node Groups, Components and Deployments.
Each Workspace belongs to an Organization (and an Organization can have many Workspaces), and is linked to only one Cloud Account that is part of that Organization. You can select any of the Workspaces you belong to in your Organizations through a drop-down selector in the top right of the Ferry application
This means that an Organization can benefit from multi-cloud edge deployments by having multiple Workspaces, some of which are connected to their AWS cloud account, and others being connected to their Azure cloud account.
Each Workspace contains everything required for a successful edge project, from prototyping through to production:
Node Groups: where users can organize their device fleets (groups of Nodes)
Nodes: where users can manage individual devices
Components: where users can manage their software applications
Deployments: where users can control which applications are being rolled out to which sets of devices.
When you create a Workspace, Ferry auto-provisions the required cloud resources within your AWS or Azure accounts on your behalf. On the Workspace details screen, you can see all the created resources in your cloud account.
